Fibre optics for over 20 years

We always talk about the arrival of fibre optics as something new. The TRN network (now net+ Léman) has been using this technology as a basis since it was founded 20 years ago.

Designated a "model commune" by the Swiss government, the Swiss Postal Telegraph and Telephone agency (PTT) built an innovative broadband network for Nyon, a true information superhighway accessible to every one of its inhabitants.

Its operational experience with fibre optics and its existing infrastructure give TRN excellent foundations, ensuring it is one step ahead of traditional operators. The architecture chosen at the time was cutting-edge, with the fibre optics laid to just 200 metres from homes.
